Baseline Concussion Testing

The Vail Mountaineer Hockey Club is pleased to announce FREE Baseline Concussion Testing for all players 12 years old and older.  Impact testing is computer based and is used as a diagnostic tool to determine a player’s baseline cognitive skills so it can be used as a comparison in case of concussion during the season.  We highly encourage all players eligible to take the test to participate.  This test, in conjunction with a doctor’s recommendation, is helpful for the player to get back on ice as quickly and as safely as possible.

Impact testing is available Oct 15th and Oct 22th from 4:30-6:30 at Battle Mountain High School computer lab.  The lab is located on the second floor next to the library.  Sessions will start every half hour in groups.

Players eligible to take Impact testing:

·         12 years old and older

·         Has not already had the test done by the school district for another sport.

·         Has not had it done last year.  Tests are good for two years unless concussed during last season.

If you have any questions about the test contact Kim Greene, Injury Prevention Specialist, Vail Health.  Greene@vailhealth.org   970-477-5166
