Christian Grunnah: Control the Ice Power Skating Clinics 9/30-10/02

VMHC is excited to welcome Christian Grunnah back to Vail for his Control the Ice Power Skating Clinics. 

Clinics will be held at Dobson Ice Arena in Vail September 30th through October 2nd. 

All sessions are co-ed and open to players 2013 and older.

2022-2023 EVALUATIONS SCHEDULE

Below is the schedule for the 2022-2023 season evaluations/tryouts. Skates will be held at BOTH Dobson Ice Arena in Vail and the Eagle Pool & Ice Rink. 

ALL U10/Squirt players will participate on Monday and Tuesday. A select group of players will be invited to skate at the Wednesday skate. This information will be emailed Tuesday, September 19th. 

Girls skates will be led by coaches to kick-off the season. 

2022-2023 REGULAR SEASON PRACTICE SCHEDULE

Regular season practices begin the week of September 26th. 

- TUESDAYS- Girls 10U/12U practice begins October 11th

- FRIDAYS- Alternating Girls practices at EPIR begin October 7th with Girls 15U/19U 

- FRIDAY Goalie Sessions will be held October 21st, December 9th, January 6th and February 10th

IMPORTANT: 2021-2022 RULE CHANGES

USA Hockey Playing Rule Changes

A couple of major rule changes this season:
- Players are now given a Game Misconduct if he/she receives 4 penalties in a game (used to be 5).
- The Head Coach is now suspended if the team receives 12 or more penalties in a game (used to be 15).
- All Youth/Girls levels are now prohibited from icing the puck when short handed, with the exception of High School.
- Tag up offsides has now been eliminated at all Youth/Girls levels with the exception of High School.
- Minor penalties for 12U and younger have been shortened as follows: for

periods of 12 minutes or less - penalty length is 1 minute
for periods greater than 12 minutes, but less than 17 minutes - penalty length is 1:30 minutes.
