16U / 18U FALL SEASON
VMHC 16U & 18U FALL REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
Below are the details for the upcoming 2026 Vail Mountaineer Fall 16U & 18U Hockey season. Please note that all dates and times are subject to change.
USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
Prior to logging into the VMHC registration, you MUST register your player with USA Hockey and obtain a new USA Hockey # for the 2026-2027 season.

Preseason Skates:
Registration links for each skate will be sent at a later date.
Saturday, August 22, 2026 in Breckenridge
- 16U (Tier 2) 3:00p - 4:15p
- 18U (Tier 1) 4:30p - 5:45p
Saturday, August 29, 2026 in Breckenridge
- T1 and T2: 6:30p - 7:45p
Tryouts:
Sunday, September 13, 2026 at EPIR - Eagle
- Two tryout skates will be held that afternoon
- Exact times will be announced at a later date
Monday, September 14, 2026 at EPIR - Eagle
- Invite-only tryout skate
- Time TBD
Practices:
- Regular season practices begin Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at EPIR - Eagle
- Currently, our Fall Midget U16 & U18 teams are scheduled to practice weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays at EPIR - Eagle
- Practice times are still being finalized
Please note that we will practice during the public school fall break on: Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13.
If you are planning a fall trip, we encourage you to schedule it for later in the week (after the October 12 & 13 practices), as October 14–18 will be our "off" dates.
Tournaments:
The 16U (Tier 2) and 18U (Tier 1) teams are expected to participate in 4–5 tournaments, totaling approximately 20 games during the fall season.
Current tournament schedule:
September 25–27: Vail Sportsmanship Tournament (Eagle)
October 2–4: Silver Sticks Tournament (Westminster)
October 9–11: Kingdom Kup Tournament (Summit)
October 23–25: Frightfest Tournament (Denver)
*Potential day trips to Steamboat or Grand Junction may also be added for additional games.
Registration:
Registration opens Tuesday, June 30th, at which time you will register your player and submit the $50 tryout fee.
Once teams have been selected, families will receive an official roster offer along with payment options for the season.
Season Fees:
Season Registration: $1,400.00
Uniform Rental Fee: $50.00
Total: $1,450.00

Sat, 8/22 16U @ 3pm 18U @ 4:30
Sat, 8/29 16U & 18U @ 6:30p
Tryouts:
Sun, 9/13 (two skates)
Mon, 9/14 (invite only)
Practices starting Tue, 9/15:
Mondays & Tuesdays - EPIR Eagle

Tournaments:
The teams will participate in 4-5 tournaments, totaling approx 20 games.
Registrations:
Pay a $50 tryout fee today.
Once teams are selected, $1,400 season registration fee + $50 Uniform Rental Fee.
